Mermaids, sensual seafood and the intimate life of rugged tattooed sailors are some of the themes of the exhibition. Paintings, art objects, photos and a peepshow bring a spirited story of passion & lust at the seashore.
The temporary exhibition "ZEEROTICA. About love and passion on the coast’ was the first exhibition under the reign of the new director Maja Wolny of NAVIGO (the National Fisheries Museum, Oostduinkerke, Belgium). It was a great success in 2011. Outside our borders this 'bold' expo did not pass by unnoticed. Therefore, the exhibition now travels to Vlissingen in the Netherlands. The exhibition "ZEEROTICA. About love and passion on the Zeeland coast", offers a high-spirited artistic story about passion and the sea. It’s an invitation to an intimate journey through nature, culture and the daily life of coastal residents, all dipped in a spicy erotic sauce. 'The Sea' has always been a sensual item, and this moving exhibition knows in an attractive, intimate way to convince the visitor. With leading works of Paul Delvaux, Spilliaert, Aloïs Boudry, Edgard Tytgat and contemporary sculptor Johan Tahon among others.
The Maritime Museum of Zeeland MuZEEum invites you to attend the official opening of the exhibition. The opening will be introduced by Dr. Maja Wolny, director of NAVIGO, the National Fisheries Museum Oostduinkerke in Belgium.
The exhibition is on show until April 14th 2013.
